As the UK faces up to an economic crisis and a drought of job opportunities its political parties and agencies have decided to follow the perverse doctrine of the abuser (child, rapist) that it better to blame the victims (unemployed) personal behaviour than their own psychology .

In doing this we face one of the most profound set of changes to our welfare system that rather than keep poverty and destitution at bay, it will be used as a tool of punishment for being unemployed and poor a crime of contempt of those that associate you with being of low moral standards and intelligence.

The Unemployment Movement

Initiated as part of the growing revolt against the abuse of political power the unemployment movement whose base is firmly representative of members within the United Kingdom, stands uniquely as the only group whose non-doctrinal and non-political stance sets it aside of other groups that are following the agendas of its controlling sponsors where as our agenda is the defence of the unemployed.

As it is our intention to promote a wave of revolt against the abuse of the unemployed; this will be archived through a reflection on the facts before us, encouraging the anger/rage so many people feel at the unjustified attacks from both government and the media and moving to a position that the membership feeling confident through group communication, then taking direct action against the government, it agencies that enslave us and those that economically profit from this.

This obliges us to say that we are not a social worker for the unemployed or rights based organisation asking for the slow reform of a section of legislation that may ease our poverty. What we face is the most profound change to the social contract that embraces’ slavery as part of the work ethic and sees the creation of an underclass that will be pushed to the very edges of survival. This can only be replied to with the promotion of rebellion against a government that is out to impoverish its people.

So what does this mean?

In the first incidence it means that the promotion of this website is only to be considered as a tool through which to assist communication of individuals that will enhance the process of grouping building and then Rebellion.  It should not be considered a space to promote other political agendas.

Where it has been setup by an individual (that pretty much dominates postings) it is not intended for this person to be its leader. This website is here to serve a community of the unemployed and as such it is intended that such a community on maturity will take over the reins of control.

Very succinctly we expect no group that sets up with us to promote the aims or take sponsorship from any political or union organisations. Our reasoning for this is that such groups are interested in promoting their own member’s interests above and beyond our own. While it may seem to suggest that such organisations have an interest in promoting our aims it cannot be forgotten they will be negotiating with the government for reforms; which in all likelihood we will not be represented at and are more likely to be shafted as a result of government negotiators squeezing for concessions.

The argument for relinquishing these ties are deeper rooted as the more powerful thrust of a movement that comes from its autonomy of its own actions will create its own dynamic that will be recognised by all, while giving dignity to those that participate in them.

As the unemployment Movement is principally been setup to take the revolt to the government’s doorstep the question of the use of violence will rear its head.  Guidance on this can only be given on this as primarily direct action should be non-violent but each situation can only be sized up by that group or individual concerned and must be the responsibility of those involved were such happens.

All are welcome as restricting our membership just to the unemployed would be a paradox as these members could very likely be unemployed the following week but we must insist that they agree with the principals and aims of the movement.

While we have stated that we are not social workers or rights based organisation it should be the intention of each group to build a community that looks after each other. This will involve raising funds to combat poverty and homelessness, cultivating knowledge of outside agencies that can help legally and building on the skills that members bring with them.

Our Aims

As we are talking about the enslavement of individuals and being driven into dire survival our aims written here are on the assumption that members agree that our aim has be for the complete reversal of all known legislation that promotes not just the attitude that it is acceptable to treat people in this way but also the policy enacted will no longer be tolerated.

The first of our aims must be for the complete abolishment of the signing on regime i.e. Contract of Conditions.

That all `Mandatory` work programs cease and training becomes a voluntary option.

That all use of `Sanctions` desist immediately and those individuals presently under a sanction receive full payment of benefits.

They place a moratorium on all present welfare reforms; which promotes subsidies for business affecting an outsourcing of jurisdiction of rights which presently enacted continues the abuse, discrimination and violence enforced on individuals at a time of extreme crisis.

The government cease all talks with private industry on the Privatisation of the Welfare system.

A Moratorium is placed on all legislation on disability and rights of the sick to benefits.

These aims are propriety and should only be viewed as part of our initials steps to correct the imbalance of power and are not set in stone and will only be enacted on the full realisation of group discussion/meetings of a national campaign committee with clear and open representation.

Conclusion

We the unemployed are not Criminals, Deviants or Lazy. We are Unemployed through the excesses of Party Politics & Poor Governance and through Economic conditions brought about by Bankers/Speculators which have repeatedly put us in this position and impoverished us.

Our immediate resolve is to get the ball rolling without interference from the Left or Right arguing the merits of work or ideology. This is not a Union with subs or a place to push your political ideology and ask you to respect this.

This organisation is open to everyone who supports the objectives outlined and is not willing to sit idly by as those core essentials for Life are cut and manipulated. Welfare is an essential right; it is not a charitable donation for the upkeep of life and to receive it you have every right to it without condition, contempt or discrimination.

Join us; make this website your contact point, a resource for individuals to come together to form groups, an honest voice on the net to make real changes.
