TOPIC: My battle with WP

My battle with WP 15 Feb 2012 14:53 #1538

I thought I would start a new thread, I hope the moderator approves, showing how I am testing the system. I do not advocate anyone following my lead until I get results.

My first attack was at the JCPlus referral, I made it clear I did not agree to data sharing and that no such issue was on my JSAG - I followed this up with a complaint. 2days later A4Greed wrote to me, after a totally shambolic call to them and a follow up letter of complaint (still not responded to after 14 days) I was then passed onto another subbie - Framework.

I have just had my 'induction' along with 10 other very miserable people, where we were treated like idiots. I was given a ticking off for reading my file of legislation to defend myself (lol). At this 'induction' it transpired that we were now the property of 'EVE Works' another arm of Frameweork, so in the space of 2 weeks my details have been passed to all and sundry without my expressed permission - 3 companies basically. Anyway - so, us miseries were all feigning rapt attention to the patronising 'adviser'. This adviser gave us all a raft of paperwork to complete - I denied this and slipped two letters in refusing consent etc (I do have these available if anyone needs them). The adviser stated that Framework is a non profit making charity so I questioned her on the payments of £400 per referral - to which she stated -' I am not willing to discuss this here'. Whenever she left I tried to impart the knowledge so far - non consent to data sharing, by signing action plans you could well be sanctioned, the funding being paid to these pimps etc, BUT - the majority of people there were SCARED!! scared of losing their pittance benefits if they questions these pimps authority.

The adviser then stated that A4E have made it mandatory for all new referrees to attend a 'Money Advice workshop' - odd I thought, but may help some people. I stated I was an accountant and ex JCPlus adviser with a magnitude of experience and was it really mandatory - oddly enough, it wasn't and I was excused.

My adviser appointment is set for next week, they have no info on me other than what A4E have illegally sent them and as they now have a letter stating I will take part under section 2 - work/work related activities but do not agree to any data being collected or shared for ESF I am awaiting with glee as to how I will be received.

As I said before - I do not recommend anyone follows this route until I have feedback. My next task is a follow up to my initial complaint to A4E, receipt of my SAR from JCPlus.... and so the battle goes on.

Hi again jabberwocky
You say "The adviser then stated that A4E have made it mandatory for all new referrees to attend a 'Money Advice workshop'"
Well the reason for this is.... guess what?...... You got it! The money advice workshops are run by A4greed! They were paid £300,000 by Govt to design the system than granted sole franchise to run it! (Anything smelling fishy yet?). A4greed get paid for each individual referred and I know that branches (and so probably individual advisors)have targets to meet for referrals made (I've seen branch targets on a whiteboard in the manager's office). Now it isn't "mandatory" for A4e advisors to refer everyone so how can it be mandatory for the subbie to do this?
With your background you will probably be asked if you want a job as one of their money advisors (don't laugh they tried to get me to apply). Sounds like a nightmare job if what happens is you face an endless queue of reluctant people who have been mandated to receive money advice.
If this was fiction I would discount it as being beyond credibility - unfortunately it isn't fiction. The whole thing is beyond irony.

What a con - I wasn't aware of the money advice aspect with A4Greed franchise!! Thanks for that info, more ammo for me! The use of the word 'mandatory' is also bandied around too readily by these people and then they back down when challenged.

Good on you Jabber, if only more people had the guts to follow, i can understand people that want to keep thier heads down hoping they will sail through it quietly probably to protect thier families from being short.
I will be taking the same tactics as you in the morning, ive complained twice to the jobcentre and its logged on my "screen" of details, you would be amazed how nice they can be when they see details that ive complained, so i will complain at any chance in my work programme meetings, if nothing else i reckon if i do get a sanction i can bring up the question, is it because i have complained?, not sure if this will work but worth a go.
I have not read anywhere any guidlines in what process to follow if someone did get a sanction? i would like to know if anyone can help as the "sanction" is the only reason people are afraid to question what happens to them.

Re: My battle with WP 15 Feb 2012 20:17 #1544

I am not out to get sanctioned but I am testing the system - the art is not to refuse, but to 'not consent'. Its also stated in the legislation that you are required to undertake work or work related activity - this doesn't include adviser appointments, so I have yet to test this.

I use a variety of sites for my info and I hope Terratech doesn't mind me giving unlawfulsanctions.org a mention. Knowledge is power.

Im not out to get sanctioned either and not shy to trying to get sustainable work throught proper means, but totally agree with you, also thanks for the info.

Re: My battle with WP - Identity clarification 22 Feb 2012 11:04 #1629

To add to my previous post, I have my 1st 'adviser' appt tomorrow. So, question - as complaints are in to various places regarding illegal data sharing - am I legally required to confirm my name? as ICO seems to say that by so doing you are giving consent. I was only going to take letter from pimp and signing book, but, is it considered 'refusal to participate' if you do not confirm details? I have done some research but no definitives out there. I have not completed any forms the 3rd Provider gave out, and stated 'do not consent' on data forms - so... any ideas or shall I just wing it and report back lol. (get the collection bucket ready lol)
